Milan Is a city rich in history and culture, which is expressed in different ways through its architecture. Between these, two buildings represent two very different eras and two styles, but both significant to the past and present of the city: the Castello Sforzesco and the Pirelli skyscraper .

The Sforzesco Castle, With his Tower of Filarete, Is one of the most interesting historic buildings in Milan. Built in the fifteenth century by the Sforza dukes on the traces of a previous fortification, it was a noble residence and military fortress. Today it houses several museums and art collections, including Michelangelo's famous Pietà Rondanini.

The Pirelli skyscraper Is a symbol of the modern architecture and economic dynamism of Milan, characterizing its skyline for more than 60 years. It was designed by Gio Ponti and built between 1956 and 1960 to house the offices of the famous Pirelli tire company. With its 127 meters high and 33 floors, it is among the tallest reinforced concrete buildings ever built.
